Since 2008 our Residency & Exhibition program has allowed the CAC to sponsor and host more than 50 international artists and hundreds of national artists.
The CAC will continue to facilitate local, national and international workshops in partnership with the Museum of Northern History. Monthly and seasonal courses are in our future.
In supporting local artists and performers, the CAC awards an Art Recognition Award and Student Recognition Award. These awards celebrate talented experienced and new artists.
In 2022, the CAC hosted our first Arts & Culture Fair featuring life performances, food vendors, and arts & craft vendors. This is In partnership with the Museum of Northern History, Lions Club and Multicultural Group to embrace Arts & Culture in our Region.
Every year we bring one national artist which is hosted at the Museum of Norhtern History during the month of March. Our Next National guest is Juliana Joss.
This exhibition typically takes place during the month of April at the Museum of Northern History. 2023’s exhibition will take place in July.
This call for submissions intends to motivate the creation of artwork in many pathways. The subjects of these works can represent social, political, and historical events or embrace an aura of mysticism subject to reality.
The approach to this call opens multiple possibilities and juxtaposes images from the fantastical to the real, actual or tangible. The call is open to 2D, 3D, performance, video and any other contemporary approaches. This call is not exclusive to participants from the Kirkland Lake area. • All National and International artists are eligible forsubmissions. All disciplines are welcome.
This exhibition takes place during the month of April. Our oncoming exhibition is Eco Environmental Art. Due to COVID-19 this exhibition has posponed to 2022.
